A friend of mine needed a logo for his small computer repair business, so I helped him out a bit. I hadn't done a logo in awhile either, so it was nice to brush off the dust.

Been messin around with ArtRage some more and I gotta say.. It's pretty darn awesome.

Sony Vaio ArtRage Event

Hello again!

So, yesterday I worked at a special Sony Vaio event hosted at Sony Pictures (which was awesome). My job was to demo and promote a Photoshop-like program called ArtRage. Having only been introduced to it yesterday morning, I have to say I'm impressed. It simulates traditional mediums extremely well, it's easy to learn and start using, still has great digital features, and best of all.. It's only about $50 depending on what version you get.

It has the Gibson Stamp of Approval! (which doesn't really mean anything.. ho hum)

Still Alive! And Sorta Working on Things

I have been pretty bad about posting recently, but I've still been working on a few things. Some personal, some freelance. Most recently is this 3D project:

There wasn't much of a concept before I started working, so I went into it a bit blind, but it turned out ok. I think the design could be a bit better polished and fluid, but it's not bad.

Aquent Freelance!

Last week I had a meeting with a freelance agency called Aquent, and what a great meeting it was! Aquent basically has clients needing some sort of creative project done and then Aquent finds the right creative person to do it. Well, I am now one of those creative people.

I'll be able to create fancy presentations for clients to pay bills as a consistent form of work and in the meantime, Aquent will look for storyboard and character design jobs for me. Perfect!!

I'm currently making sample slides for them to show clients.

Finished the under armor! Cleaned the pic up a bit too, for presentation purposes. Next up, the primary armor.

This was only supposed to be a suit for under the armor but kinda turned into lightweight armor itself. We'll see how this plays out...

At It Again

This is the beginning of an armor concept I'm whipping up. Halo 4 has to be one of the most incredible looking games, stunning design and composition throughout. So, it's inspired me to create a custom armor for the Chief.

Just Had to Make Something

Been kinda down lately, discouraged, etc. Just felt like creating something kinda rustic.

Demo Storyboard Panels

I'm trying to join a staryboarding agency and in the process, they want me to do some demos panels for them. They really like clean lines and realistic drawings. Most storyboards are much more sketchy and unfinished, but they like a somewhat polished look. I worked a little more with the background and grey tones in the apple picker one. Here is what I did for them.

Figure Study Madness!!!

In preparation for storyboarding, I've been honing figure skills using references from Shutterstock.com. It's a great way to work with technique, build accuracy and better yourself in general. Nothing too crazy or action packed here, but it's a necessary step for me. Action packed shots will be coming shortly though :D

Beast

Not much development on this particular drawing. I kinda just wanted to draw the human figure a little. Not much in the way of design or clothing or intent.. but whatever. Messing around with filters some more. I like filters. Filters are nice. 

More thought out stuff to come! Probably!
