Boring Update

So, a quick update about my life.. I now have two jobs. I've started at Bose working part time/seasonal and will soon be doing the same at Sony, probably within a week. If I'm lucky I'll be making just enough to pay for my rent, student loans, food and gas. What's that? Where's my fun money you say? You don't see it? That's because it doesn't exist...

I'll basically be existing to work to make money to pay for living to work to make money to pay..... and so on indefinitely. Don't worry it should only be like this until I find a real job, which should be any year now. I mean on the bright side, after the dozens and dozens of applications at least I managed to get some interviews.. oh wait.. nope.. no interviews even..

But really, what's the worst thing that could happen? I end up becoming homeless or something? LA hardly has any homeless people.

On an actual different note, I found an old caricature I drew.. here it is...

It's of my ex girlfriend's sister and boyfriend. Pretty good right? Like I have talent or something! But wait.. wait.. Shirley, that's not the case, because if someone is talented at a specific skill they usually have a job pertaining to it.

General Update

So just to keep whoever is out there informed, this is my recent past.

I moved to Santa Barbara in early October and stayed with my sister for a couple weeks, it was very beautiful. I was able to find a new car, 2005 grey corolla, and thus began my apt hunt! I ventured to LA several times before finding a great apt in culver city.

I've now been here a couple weeks and things are starting to come together. The living room still needs furniture but we're getting there. I also am lined up to start working at Bose part time while I find a career job at a studio.

So that's the gist of it for now, stay tuned.

Hello all 6 people that actually look at this! I know, it's been quite some time since I updated this, my apologies. I have so much news!



The website is complete! Only average maintenance from here on out.



Aside from that, I was chosen to be an extra in THE Avengers movie! And then I got screwed over when they decided to change the shoot date and not call me. Life goes on I guess... just not as pleasantly... I'm at least doing some sort of pool advertisement.. should be fun.



I have also purchased my plane ticket for the big move! I leave Ohio October 4th. I still have a bunch of crap to get rid of and many goodbyes to say but I'm so excited!!



As for work, my last day at Bose was about a week ago and I have started to finish the children's book I was illustrating and have also started on a couple concept works.

Acting is done! Well.. mostly.. still working on a few things here and there, but all in all, the site is actually starting to look, feel, function and smell like a site. Stay tuned! Oh and meanwhile.. I have begun getting rid of crap for the move. yay.

So yesterday was the first day for the new site. There were some obvious kinks.. to me at least. At this point I'm probably the only one who even knows about this site. Sigh.. well when it's completely updated hopefully it will gather attention.

The new site is coming along slowly but surely, as the old saying goes. Another good saying, Rome wasn't built in a day. And one more.. you can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs. Not really sure how relevant that last one is.. I just had eggs for breakfast. Mmmmmmmmmm.

Beginning of a New Chapter (with my blog)

For those that are interested in me, I am a recent graduate from the University of Cincinnati, studying 3d modeling and animation. About 1 month ago I moved from Cincinnati to California, first living in Santa Barbara and now in Culver City. All in an attempt at better career opportunities.

I have created a website (www.theMattGibson.com) to promote my portfolio and hopefully land a job somewhere. This blog is just a quick and easy way to show and tell everyone what I'm up to.
